Matt Landis has posted about the Lync 2013 Windows Phone app being available in the Market Place. This adds Voice and Video over IP using Wi-Fi and mobile data networks (3G/4G), cool! You will need Lync Server 2013 CU1 or have an Office 365 "Wave 15" tenant (you must have signed up after 27 Feb 2013 or have been upgraded already, you will know if you do). You can “sign-in” with “Wave 14” Office 365 tenant users, but not much seems to work (reliably) so don’t bother.
Overview of the settings menu below.
I have the Lync 2010 and 2013 apps installed. When joining a meeting I was prompted for which app to use.
Lync Call started with the lovely Katie Jordan.
When leaving the app the Lync Call remains open with the familiar “Phone Call” style notification at the top of the screen.
Easy to use buttons to start video and show my feed.
Video started for both (both me, Katie J wasn’t available) participants.
Camera controls.
Lync Call options
Lync Call conversations and notification bar.

Lync 2013 Windows Phone App – My first 2 Minutes
I have put together a quick walk through on the Windows Phone experience I had in the first few minutes with my hands on it. Enjoy. On first sign-in you get prompted to choose whether voice and video require Wi-Fi, controlling the use of mobile data networks. I turned both switches off.Overview of the settings menu below.
